Solenopsis Solenopsidis	3 to 4 mm	Central America to the southern United States.
Red imported fire ant	1/16 to 1/4 in	lowland areas of South America, primarily Brazil and Argentina.
Solenopsis geminata	1.0 to over 4.0 mm	Central and South America, including the Caribbean islands.
